Samsung One UI 8 rumored

Samsung is currently pushing the rollout of Samsung One UI 8, but the delayed release of the upgrade has left Galaxy users dissatisfied, which is fair enough. Amid the slower-than-expected progress, some flagship models like the Galaxy S24 and S23 series and the 6th Pay generation foldable have received the UI 7 beta update. This beta rollout of the S23 lineup is also limited to a few countries.

While Samsung is yet to begin the stable rollout of UI 7, the Android 15-based skin has made its way to Samsung One UI 8 based on Android 16. As per recent leaks, the company is already working on its Android 16-based skin. As a result, Samsung has garnered mixed opinions among Galaxy enthusiasts concerning timely Android updates.

It was recently speculated that Samsung One UI 8 could appear on time if not ahead of schedule. A photo of a Galaxy device running on One UI 8 surfaced online, leading to widespread rumors about a beta release.

Samsung One UI 7 is still in progress

To avoid any misinformation or unrealistic expectations, the community’s Samsung US moderator made it clear that UI 8 has not been officially announced. The moderator explained that the device in the leaked photo is an internal test unit of Samsung, used only for early-stage development. This means that users will not be getting the UI 8 beta update anytime soon.

The moderator also responded to the community’s requests for a direct transition to UI 8, stating that the beta program follows a step-by-step approach. While it is interesting to ignore UI 7 and introduce the next big upgrade, Samsung’s beta team is fully committed to finalizing UI 7 before focusing on UI 8. So for those eligible for UI 7, check out the rollout timeline here.

Now the question is, will Samsung speed up its One UI release or are we expecting another slow rollout? Hopefully, this will be the first, and the company will pick up the pace with One UI 7.
